“Self-Guided Walking Tour of Turner Cemetery”
1-3 p.m.
SHHS and The Friends of Turner Cemetery at Mary S. Brown Memorial-Ames UM Church will present a self-guided walking tour of the cemetery. The tour will be self-guided, and all COVID-19 precautions will be in force. Wearing masks and social distancing will be required. No restrooms or refreshments will be available. Visitors can come and go at any time during the event. Researchers and the MSBA church members who maintain the cemetery will be on hand to discuss the history of the site and update attendees about future plans for the church. Visitors are asked not to touch or make rubbings of the fragile tombstones in order to preserve their carvings. Walking Tour Details
Turner Cemetery is located at located at 3424 Beechwood Boulevard. Parking is available along Beechwood Boulevard and Saline Street. 

Entry to the cemetery will be through the gate at the upper end of Federal Hill Street beside the cemetery between Beechwood and Saline. There is no entry from Beechwood Boulevard because the area has been fenced off due to deconstruction of Mary S. Brown-Ames Church. 

The cemetery is on a sloped lawn with some uneven footing, so attendees must assume their own liability when they enter the cemetery.
