As Helen Wilson and her fellow researchers continue to study SquirrelHill’s history, they find connections to the past that can be illustrated by comparing old and new images, some from the recently digitized copies of the Squirrel Hill News and other newspapers. The comparisons show not only how Squirrel Hill changed over time, but also why the changes took place.
About the Speaker: Helen Wilson, Co-Vice President, served as editor as well as contributor to the SHHS Book:“Squirrel Hill,a Neighborhood History”. She has been researching and writing about Squirrel Hill’s History since she retired in 2006 from the Pittsburgh Board of Public Education, where she taught Art and worked in the Division of Curriculum Development as a writer, editor, graphic designer, and illustrator.
