“Turner Cemetery’s History and Significance”
Zoom Program
Vice-President Helen Wilson and other researchers continue to discover new information about Pittsburgh’s second-oldest graveyard, Turner Cemetery, and the people buried there. It is the final resting place of many of the earliest inhabitants of Squirrel Hill, including military veterans from the Revolutionary War to the Spanish-American War. Many of those interred were related to each other by birth or marriage, and researchers have been studying those relationships to see how they fit in with the early development of Squirrel Hill.
