Barbara Burstin, Ph.D., a lecturer in history at the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University and longtime SHHS member, and Fred Carlson, an award-wining professional illustrator in Pittsburgh since 1980, will discuss how they collaborated to produce a 30-page booklet describing America’s responses to the rise of Hitler and the occurrence of the Holocaust. They will also consider how those chapters in history continue to affect contemporary life. Following the presentation, copies of America and the Holocaust will be available for purchase at $10 each.
